"Shadows" is an ongoing project born from my move to Canada in 2003, marking a departure from my lifelong home in Israel. Through art, I express the longing for my family and homeland, exploring themes of not belonging and adapting to a new identity—Israeli turned Canadian. The artwork, utilizing collected items and juxtaposed visuals, represents my journey of cultivating new connections and embracing a hybrid self. The scattered black fragments hold memories of my childhood, culture, and senses. The contrasted black and white prints, inspired by the Israeli light, engage with the Canadian scenery. They encapsulate specific locations and memories, prompting reflections on home, identity, and the outlines of personal history.
