“Memory Capsules” brings together shadow prints and shallow, bowl-like textile forms made from wrapped and moulded red fiber. Each print is stitched into the form and enclosed beneath a transparent layer with the words, “When you look into the light all you see are shadows.”

The work gives a fleeting shadow a physical place to remain. The red fiber surrounds the image like a fragile container, holding a trace of what is absent. Light, which makes the shadow visible, becomes inseparable from the memory it preserves.
