"Life Line" is a photographic series exploring the powerful and intricate design of hydro towers. Commuting daily from Ancaster to St. Catharines, these towering structures along the Red Hill Valley caught my attention, resembling mythical creatures or totems with a story to tell. The contrast between the solid galvanized metal and delicate, lace-like lines captivated me. From beneath the towers, I discovered symmetrical flowers, a testament to the poetic heart of the engineers who crafted them. This discovery spurred a pilgrimage to capture the unique visual language of electricity totems in various locations, from Mohawk Road and Barton Street to Burlington, Kitchener, and Port Colborne. "Life Line" invites viewers to appreciate the fascinating artistry hidden within the seemingly mundane structures that shape our urban landscapes.
