"Existential Dichotomy":
The Jericho rose, a desert plant with an annual rhythm of opening and closing upon contact with water, retains its seed-bearing ability even in death—a phenomenon considered miraculous, laden with legends and symbols in the three monotheistic religions. Collaborating with Michal Tikochinski, our piece poses a compelling query: Is it dead or alive? This juxtaposition unfolds through a film documenting the plant's persistent movement and a porcelain shell, an empty yet symbolic representation of the plant's enduring cycle of rebirth.
