My proposed body of work for the World of Threads Festival in Oakville, Ontario explores the profound connection formed with a flower seller in a Tamil Nadu village (Poombarai). Through her words, "she will take me to faraway places," and my response of wrapping threads into three-dimensional drawings, a bond emerged. From hidden to visible, my vessels invite exploration, offering a glimpse into the secrets they hold. Working with threads, I weave and paint, creating textures and organic forms both naturally and intentionally. This body of work embodies the transformative power of art and the threads that connect us all.
