Originally presented in my solo exhibition at the World of Threads Festival in Oakville, Ontario, “Cocoons” is an installation of hand-wrapped fiber forms suspended from a wooden branch.



Following the exhibition, the work was selected for a long-term rental and has been exhibited at Halton Healthcare in Oakville for about four years.



Evoking protective shells, feminine bodies and the transformative process of metamorphosis, the cocoons hold an intimate space between concealment and emergence. Within the healthcare environment, the installation invites reflection on vulnerability, protection, healing and the quiet processes of change.
