"Dead or alive"

The Jericho rose is an annual desert plant that continues to open and close upon contact with water, and to seed even after it has died. This phenomenon seemed miraculous and evoked legends and symbols in the believers of the three monotheistic religions. Collaborating with Michal Tikochinski, our piece poses a compelling query: Is it dead or alive? This juxtaposition unfolds through a film documenting the plant's persistent movement, and a porcelain shell, an empty yet symbolic representation of the plant's enduring cycle of rebirth.
